Hand Wash: Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild detergent designed for silk or delicate fabrics. Swish the item gently in the water for a few minutes.
Machine Wash: Place the silk in a mesh laundry bag to protect it. Use a delicate cycle with cold water and a mild detergent.
Rinse Thoroughly: After washing, rinse the silk with cold water until all the soap is removed.
Avoid Wringing: Do not wring or twist the silk . Instead, press the water out gently by pressing it against the side of the sink or basin.
Drying: Lay the Silk flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel and press gently to remove excess water.
Lay it flat to dry on another dry towel away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Avoid hanging it, as this can distort the shape.
Ironing (if necessary): If the pillowcase is wrinkled, iron it while it is still slightly damp. Use the lowest heat setting on your iron, or the "silk" setting if available. Place a clean cloth between the iron and the silk to protect it.
